PEG Letter
September 1, 2025
Dear Parent or Guardian,
We hope this message finds you and your family well.
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has released the 2022–2023 Public Education Grant (PEG) list, which identifies campuses that received an “F” rating in the Student Achievement and School Progress domains of the state accountability system in 2023.
We are reaching out to let you know that your child is eligible for a school transfer under the PEG program for the 2025–2026 school year. PEG eligibility is based on your school’s 2023 rating, even though we have newer ratings for 2024 and 2025.
What Is the PEG Program?
The PEG program, established under Texas Education Code Chapter 29, Subchapter G, offers families the opportunity to apply for a transfer to another public school if their child’s assigned campus earned an overall rating of F on the state report card. This includes options both within Fort Worth ISD and in other districts across Texas.
Your child’s current campus, Clifford Davis ES, received a scaled score below 60 in 2023, placing it on the Final 2025–2026 PEG List. This score may not reflect recent progress the campus has made in 2024 and 2025, and we remain committed to supporting every student. However, PEG eligibility is determined by the 2023 rating.
How to Request a Transfer
Beginning September 1, 2025, families may request a transfer using the Fort Worth ISD PEG Transfer Request Form. You’ll need your child’s Student ID to complete the form.
We encourage you to submit your request as soon as possible. Transfers will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis, and are subject to:
● Available space at the receiving campus
● Staffing levels
● Classroom capacity
Please note: Transportation for PEG transfers is the responsibility of the parent or guardian. Fort Worth ISD does not provide transportation beyond what is normally offered.
Eligible Receiving Campuses
For the 2025–2026 school year, Fort Worth ISD campuses may accept PEG transfers if they were not identified as PEG campuses in 2023 and have space available. A list of eligible campuses will be included in the Transfer Request form.
Important Notes
● No tuition may be charged for PEG transfers.
● Receiving districts (for interdistrict transfers) may accept or decline applications, but may not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, academic achievement, athletic ability, language proficiency, sex, or socioeconomic status.
● Students remain eligible for PEG transfers until they complete all grades offered at the original PEG campus or are reassigned to a non-PEG campus.
For more information about the PEG program, please visit the TEA’s Public Education Grant FAQ webpage.
If you have questions or need support with the transfer process, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s school, the FWISD School Choice and Enrollment Office at enrollment@fwisd.org, or the FWISD School Leadership Office. We’re here to help and support you every step of the way.
